About RoadRat, Art, & Scribble

History

Art

In the beginning, (around 1971), I sketched a picture of the girl sitting in front of me in study hall as a freshman in high school. It wasn't too good, but not totally bad, either, or so she said.  I kept the drawing in my binder and would draw others when there was nothing to do in study hall. Art has always been in the family as my grandfather was a painter, and father creates painted landscapes from plaster and wood and also paints.  I started drawing others in the styles of the early 70's, being miniskirts, knee high anything, (boots or socks), and long hair, usually about waist length. I continued to draw from the recliner in my parents basement, drawing longer hair and shorter skirts, until I met my first girlfriend, about 1972. I still dabbled in art after that, but never took any formal art training. Art continued as a spare time hobby, following computers ( with blazing 110 baud teletypes), biking, cars, (after turning 16), and girlfriends. I started drawing short hair in the late 70's, as I started liking short hair better, thanks to a girlfriend in the late 70's, when I went with her to cut her long hair and the short styles she wore after. (She convinced me short hair girls had more personality. I even did some sketches of haircuts in progress during this time of pure animal lust I had for her. For some reason, watching her get her long hair cut fascinated me! These are available only by request.) I went back to drawing some long hair beauty again in the later 80's along with the short hair, even expanding into erotic art. (not displayed here, either!)  I mainly draw looks popular in the early 70's with very long hair lately, along with some fashion design. Thanks to PC's and photo editing software, I took some of  them and added color. This is a continual learning process. If you're interested in my short hair,  haircut art, or fashion design, mail me with a description of what you'd like to see.

At Roadrat's Scribble, I will feature the goddess art with very long hair. I am also a guest artist at these women's fashion sites.

The Tight Skirts Page, Go-Go-Boots.com, Skimpy Skirts.com, Groove Art.com and some other fashion design clubs.

Stories

Most of this scribble was kept in a folder, thrown out, or shown to a friend who also wrote. With her, we used to take some of our stories and act them out. She had long blonde hair and would like to play the beauty with the long flowing hair, and would make up odd names.. I would be whatever she wanted. Sometimes, others would join in. The stories were mostly her idea, with me getting an occasional shot at a script. Her ambition was to be a journalist or a writer, my ambition at the time was to only impress her and her girlfriends, (my first girlfriend was a result of such impressions.). Of course, we grew out of that but I traded stories with her for a while after. Creating stories and artwork is a stress reliever for me, so I will continue to keep these on my list of hobbies.

Long Hair

Long hair is art. There is usually an interesting story behind the lady who wears her hair very long. It is a beauty that takes years of care and patience to create. Long hair kept that way as a lady reaches her 30's and 40's is even a greater sight. When I got married in 1982, my bride had long black hair past her waist, and has kept it long all these years. Being a pack rat, I kept a lot of old magazines, ads, and such and  have access to a lot of forgotten vintage long hair beauty.

The Web

In summer of 1999, I needed a place to show how my project car, a 1970 Corvette, was coming at the Corvette chat rooms. Instead of emailing pictures to everyone that asked, it was easier to start a site and put them there and give out the address. Thus RoadRat's Rest Stop was born. Some others joined in and wanted their cars put there also. I also put up a huge Christmas display every year and put the pictures on the Rest Stop for my out of town friends. I added pictures of models in late 60's stuff, a real hit! Often, I wondered what  anyone who went through my stuff would think of the old art and stories still in the desk, after I was gone. So, instead of just leaving them there, I scanned a few and put them on the Rest Stop to find out. To my surprise, a got a few emails! Even if the surfing public dismisses this as amateur art and writing, (which it is), I will still put some new stuff out for the few that have wrote back and liked it. Over the two year period the Rest Stop existed, it got too big and needed to be pruned a little. Most of the visitors to the Rest Stop were interested in the 60's & 70's fashion archives, or the car page, and not so much in the art or long hair pages. Therefore, instead of just deleting them,  I decided to split the art and long hair sections and give them their own site. I introduced this new site to the Long Hair Webring and called it, "Roadrat's Scribble". The interest in this new site exceeded the interest in the Rest Stop site after about 6 months. Unfortunately, Yahoo! destroyed the webring traffic.  I now depend on my link exchanges for site visitors.
